Basic Life Support, CPR & Defibrillator Training in Bristol

There are over 200 cardiac arrests every day in the UK and they can happen to anyone. Early CPR can keep a person alive but it is the use of a defibrillator which can really mean the difference to a person dying or coming back to life.

Every second counts so knowing how to use a defibrillator correctly can make all the difference. You will also learn effective CPR. This Basic Life Support course is 3 hours long and you will receive a certificate valid for 1 year.

What This Course Covers

Having a basic understanding of first aid and some of its most fundamental techniques can save lives. 

This Basic Life Support course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to act when an emergency situation arises, providing a casualty with critical life-saving assistance until support arrives.

This course also covers the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

AEDs are proven to save lives, they are becoming a necessary addition in the workplace to health and safety provision for your employees. They are also found in places people gather such as shopping centres and garages.

The CPR & Defibrillator training course teaches CPR and how to operate an AED giving students the confidence to know what to do in a medical emergency. No previous training is needed

Qualification

Your Basic Life Support qualification will be valid for 1 year from the date that you finish your training. Should you wish to renew your certificate you will need to attend another 3 hour, Basic Life Support course.

This qualification is a nationally recognised, accredited qualification. At First Aid Bristol we exceed the requirements of a course provider as set by the HSE.

In 2013, the HSE deregulated the first aid industry so there is no longer any requirement for externally regulated certification. In some very specific instances for specialist environments, external regulation is requested so if this is something you require you must bring this to our attention before making a booking and we can advise accordingly.

Private Groups

We are happy to run any of our first aid training courses as private groups at either your venue or one of our training centres.

There are no additional fees for us to come out to you as long as some parking is available for your instructor. All of our normal prices apply and you can see a full list of these on our prices page. – Click here

We are happy to run private groups for any of our first aid courses. These can be held at either our dedicated first aid training centres in the centre of Bristol or at a venue of your choosing. There is no additional cost for private groups; we just require some parking to be available for your instructor.

We bring all of our own equipment so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

If you are looking for us to run a private course, please get in touch to establish a suitable date. You can book an open course directly from the timetable page or alternatively please get in touch and we can set up your booking for you.
  4. Upon completing the bookings process you will receive email confirmation with all relevant details for your course. We then aim to process your qualification and certificate within a few days of you completing your course. If it is urgent then please just bring it to our attention.
