Description

The Outdoor First Aid course is an intermediate mountain medicine course designed for group leaders working in remote areas. It is also suitable for people travelling in remote locations. The course is recognised by all outdoor governing bodies, eg M.L.T.U.K, R.Y.A, B.U, B.A.S.I, etc. It teaches candidates how to deal with casualties when help can be hours away. This course takes place over 2 days and will give the candidate and ECP outdoor certificate which will last for 3 years.

The Outdoor First Aid course is very practical and we use scenarios to reinforce the learning . This empowers candidates to act in first aid emergencies where no help is immediately available and where other factors such as extremes of temperature and weather will be considered. We will also look at scenarios where more than one group member is injured and methods of evacuation from remote locations . Instructors have much experience with real life emergencies and they bring this knowledge to the classroom.
