The syllabus of this course exceeds the requirements of HSE for the 1 day course. If you are an early years practitioner then you will need to attend the 2 day Paediatric First Aid to meet the requirements of the EYFS.

2 Day Paediatric First Aid Course

Day 1 Schedule

• Responsibilities of the first aider

• The unconscious baby/child
• Infant and child resuscitation
• Incident management and reporting
• Control bleeding and manage shock
• Choking
• Treat burns and scalds
• Head injuries, seizures and febrile convulsions
• Fractures

• Recognise and deal with a range of common illnesses/ diseases
• Asthma and hyperventilation
• Neck and spinal injuries
• Poisoning
• Allergies and anaphylactic shock
