2 Day Paediatric First Aid Course (12hr)
3 Year Qualification
The syllabus of this course exceeds the requirements of Ofsted & EYFS for teachers and people responsible for children.
Day 1 Schedule
- Responsibilities of the first aider
- Priorities of treatment
- The unconscious baby/child
- Infant and child resuscitation
- Incident management and reporting
- Control bleeding and manage shock
- Choking
- Treat burns and scalds
- Head injuries, seizures and febrile convulsions
- Fractures
Day 2 Schedule
- Recognise and deal with a range of common illnesses/ diseases
- Asthma and hyperventilation
- Neck and spinal injuries
- Poisoning
- Allergies and anaphylactic shock
- Extremes of hot and cold
- Electric shock
- Bites and stings
- Eyes, ears and nose
- Scenarios
